Social Science Special "Academic Journalism 2" Journalism is now in a headwind. This is partly due to the rise of politicians who don't recognize the value of journalism, and partly due to the "outside" fact that anyone can speak out in the Internet age. But it is also due to the "inside" fact that journalism itself has forgotten the "minutes" that should have been a branch of social science. Following on from the special issue "Academic Journalism" in Issue 95 (2020), we emphasize the necessity of collaboration between journalism and academia, and focus on "thought" and "science." We discuss again the conditions for journalism to become a social science and redefine "journalism."
