Product Description ■ This is a colorless resin-cast kit before assembly.
This is a new 1/72 scale resin-cast kit from the Hungarian SBS model.
M. 39 is a seaplane made in 1926 by the Italian company AER Makki as an exclusive machine for the Schneider Trophy race.
Makki participated in the race in 1925 with the Makki M. 33 flying boat which adopted the single leaf type with the aim of reducing air resistance, and the result ended in third place.
So, Makki decided to aim for the entry of the Schneider Trophy with the seaplane style aircraft which imitated the American Curtis R3C-2 which won at that time.
This machine was made in order to prevent the American from winning the third consecutive championship with all the Italian effort. Although it adopted the seaplane style, the main wing adopted the single leaf type.
M. 39 succeeded in winning the Schneider Trophy race in 1926 in Virginia, USA.
The kit includes etching parts, transparent film for instrument panel, brass cast strut and 3 kinds of decals (the 1st and 3rd which participated in the same race as the 5th which won).
The SBS model full-resin kit includes parts with delicate details that are difficult to reproduce by injection.
