Product Explanation The "Wooden Box-Car Wa 5490" in the Freight Tetsudo-Hakubutsukan (Inabe City, Mie Prefecture) was a 7-ton box-car owned by Niigata Engineering Co., Ltd. Hokuriku Railroad in 1906 (1906).
After being nationalized, it was remodeled into a 10-ton freight car in the Taisho era, and the cars were used in various places in the early Showa era. It was transferred to Omi Railway after the war.
The cars on display were stored in 2004 (2004) and restored in November 2007 (2007) by the volunteer staff of the museum.
The actual cars can be seen on the opening day of the Freight Tetsudo-Hakubutsukan.
