[Actual Cars]
The 115 series is a suburban train for the gradient railroad section that was introduced in 1963.
Among the 115 series that had been manufactured for many years, the 300 series, which was introduced in 1973, was equipped with an air conditioner from the beginning and underwent model changes such as replacing the side windows with unit sashes.
The cars introduced for the Tohoku and Takasaki Line trains were assigned to the Oyama Train Section and the Shim-Maebashi Train Section. Together with the 0 series of the same Shonan color and the 1000 series that was deployed later, they were composed of up to 15 cars. They played an active role mainly between Ueno Kuroiso and Takasaki.
In 1986, part of the three car train set including the Kumoha 115 type of Toyota Train Section was transferred to Okayama, and they were operated in the original Yokosuka color for a while.
Gradually changed to Shonan color. The pantograph was replaced with PS16 instead of PS23 when they belonged to Toyota Train Section.
